Resistivity Data Acquisition System

Datem has designed and manufactured a range of shallow and deepwater resistivity data acquisition systems intended for undertaking resistivity surveys of sub-sea soils.

The system works on the principle of passing high current from one contact on a streamer cable, through the soil to a return contact. Arrangements of additional contacts are used for taking electrical measurements in relationship to the current path.
The resulting calculated resistance readings are used to determine the soil composition.
