Datem supply a range of cones for use in CPT’s, from 2cm² up to and including 10cm². T-Bar cones are also available.
The 2cm² Cone has been designed specifically for the Datem Neptune 3000 Miniature CPT system, it features high precision electronics to increase the accuracy of the data. The 2cm² cone is fitten with Tip, Sleeve and Tilt sensors as standard but with the option of various pore pressure sensors.
5cm² Cones are again used with the Datem CPT systems, both Neptune 3000 CPT system and the Neptune 5000 CPT rig are capable of using the 5cm² cones, the analogue version of the cone is for use with the Neptune 3000 where as the Neptune 5000 makes use of the digital cones. As standard the 5cm² cones are fitted with Tip, Sleeve and Dual axis tilts – Pore pressure sensors of various sizes are an optional extra.
10cm² cones available from Datem are primarily for us with the Datem Drillstring CPT system and the Land CPT System, they feature high prevision built in electronics to increase the accuracy and stability of the cone data. The amplified data outputs allow much improved signal transfer between the cone and the sub sea CPT control electronics.
10cm² cones are fitted with Tip, Sleeve, Pore and dual axis tilt as standard.
The Datem T-Bar cones are for use with the Neptune CPT Systems. The T-Bar cones are fitted with axial load, friction sleeve and dual axis tilt as standard. The T-Bar is based around a modified 5cm cone with increased sensitivity. The electronics housing has been specifically designed to mate to the normal CPT rod without the need for any adapters.
Each T-Bar cone is supplied with two inter-changeable T-Bars. The T-Bars are 158mm x 31.6mm and 96.2mm x 26mm. The T-Bar cones are easily detachable from the CPT rod so as to minimize consumable costs, and each cone is supplied with a multipoint calibration.
