Impaq Ltd

Datem Ltd has recently developed a strategic partnership aimed at the sharing of resources with its near neighbour, Impaq Ltd.

Impaq ltd was founded in 1993 by subsea motor specialist John Rodgers and is the UK’s leading independent designer and manufacturer of submersible electric motors and power-packs for ROV’s and related equipment including Datem’s own Neptune CPT systems.

John Rodgers will continue to be responsible for product development and generating new business whilst the routine production, service and support functions will be integrated within the larger Datem organisation.

To facilitate this partnership Datem has expanded its Metheringham, UK facilities with the acquisition of an additional 1000sq. ft of workshop space. This area now houses the Datem machining department.

G.A.S Survey based in Bologna, Italy recently sent its Neptune 3000 system CPT back to Datem to be mechanically refurbished and electronically updated with the latest Neptune technology.

The unit has been extensively for four years and was due for a major service and overhaul.

G.A.S. took the opportunity to invest in the latest technology including new Control and Acquisition Software, ethernet communication and automatic tuning telemetry system.

GAS has 20 solid years of experience world wide in geophysical, geotechnical, seismic, bathymetric, oceanography, topographical and environmental surveys.

Geosoft

Datem has worked in collaboration with Polish company Geosoft, the makers of the well known CPT-Pro data processing software. The move allows interpretation of the newer format of data files produced by the Neptune Control and Data Acquisition Software Suite.

Data files can now be imported directly into CPT-Pro for post job processing.

EGS Boat

Regular customer EGS Asia Ltd, Hong Kong has purchased its third Neptune 3000 CPT system. The unit will see immediate service in Indonesian waters.

Drillstring CPT

Quest Veritas Geoscience FZC based in Sharjah, UAE in partnership with Comacoe has purchased a second Drillstring CPT System.

The order was fulfilled from start to finish within 2 weeks.

Comacoe, an ISO 9001:2000 company was incorporated with the prime objective to provide high quality, integrated geoscience, oceanographic, subsea solutions to the onshore and offshore oil & gas, port and marine infrastructure development sector.

Datem has supplied a Neptune 3000 CPT Unit to polish based companies Seabed-Polska and Envia, a joint venture. They were working on behalf of the Maritime Institute in Gdansk to study the geophysical and geotechnical parameters of the Polish seabed. The vessel R / V Imora was equiped with the Neptune 3000 CPT System to carry out multiple CPT pushes.

Igeotest's Neptune 5000 CPT System

Igeotest, a Spanish client have purchased a Neptune 5000 CPT System from Datem, the company were in need of a heavy duty CPT system and Datem’s Neptune met the necessary requirements.

Datem has supplied a Neptune 3000 to Qingdao Institute of Marine Geology (QIMG). QIMG, a new customer of Datem Ltd, is a specific research organisation in marine geology.

The sale was facilitated by Datem’s Chinese representative China-Ore Ltd.

Datem have built and supplied 2 Neptune 5000 thruster units for their customer based in Great Yarmouth, Gardline Geosciences.

The units will firstly be used in Norway. The Neptune 5000 allows for a greater pushing force of up to 3.5 tonnes. The units are a heavy duty version of the Neptune 3000 CPT System. The frame was built not supplied by Datem, instead it was created by Gardline to house the Datem Neptune 5000 thruster unit and electronic pods.

The Datem Neptune Control and Acquisition Software Suite was supplied with two operating PC’s running the Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System.
